Geoffrey Badner shoots model feature for the premier issue of Cool America Magazine

I was fortunate enough to be invited to shoot a model feature for the premier issue of Cool America Magazine.

For this shoot, I had an amazing model lined up. Stylist, Jacci Jaye, pulled from top lingerie designers specifically for her and makeup artist, Mala Elhassan, came prepared with ideas based on her look.

We were all surprised (and somewhat panicked) on shoot morning to discover that our model was unexpectedly unavailable. Thankfully, Images NY came through with Kaitlin Robbins as a last-minute replacement. We were nervous that all of our preparation would be a worthless waste of time, but Kaitlin turned out to be amazing and worked flawlessly with all our concepts. See the results for yourself.

Lower Eastside With Madeliene by Geoffrey Badner

Did a quick shoot last week with the lovely Madeleine. Met up in the Lower Eastside and walked around for a bit.

What pleases me most about these is that I went to an area that I’ve not shot in before and made it work. 11:30am in that area is not the quietest time of the day either, but I was able to find the light and background environments I wanted.

I’ve been shooting a lot in places I’m really familiar with (mostly DUMBO) and it becomes easy and formulaic. Always good to keep up the challenge.
